Free screen recorder to GIF

Record a window, tab, or your whole screen and export it as a looping GIF — encoded entirely in your browser, with no upload, no account, and no watermark.

Free · No login · No credit card

Nothing is uploaded. Capture and encoding happen on your device.

How it works

  1. 1

Choose an output width, press record, and pick the tab, window, or screen you want to capture.

  2. 2

Click through the flow you want to show. Recording stops automatically at 30 seconds.

  3. 3

The GIF is encoded locally at 10 frames per second — preview it and download the file.

Frequently asked questions

Does my recording get uploaded anywhere?
No. Capture, frame extraction, and GIF encoding all happen in your browser. Nothing about the recording leaves your machine, which is why it also works on internal tools and staging environments.
Which browsers work?
Any desktop browser that supports screen capture: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, and recent Safari. Mobile browsers do not expose screen capture, so record from a desktop.
How long can a recording be?
GIFs get large quickly, so we cap recordings at 30 seconds and encode at 10 frames per second. For anything longer, record two shorter clips or use a video instead.
How do I keep the file size down?
Share a single window or tab rather than a full display, lower the output width, and keep the clip short. Width is the single biggest factor in the final size.
Is there a watermark or a signup?
Neither. The GIF is yours, unbranded, and downloads straight from your browser without an account.
